Poster Contest Rules
Theme: Your poster must reflect the joy and excitement of summer. Think sunshine, water fun, and outdoor adventures!

Age Categories: There will be three age categories: 5-8, 9-12, and 13-17. You will find a form to fill out to be placed in your sealed poster submissions. Posters that leave any items blank or do not return with a form won’t be considered.

Size and Medium: Your illustration must be created on the provided 11in x 14in mixed media paper. You can use any medium you like, such as markers, crayons, paint, or collage materials. Practice your design on printer paper or ruled school paper, not on the provided 11in x 14in paper.

Originality: Your artwork must be your own original creation. No tracing or copying from other sources.

Positive Messaging: Keep your illustration positive and uplifting. Avoid any depictions of violence, negativity, or inappropriate content.

Creativity: Get creative with your interpretation of summer fun! Whether it’s building sandcastles, splashing in pools, fishing, or enjoying ice cream under the sun, let your imagination run wild.

Colorful and Vibrant: Use bright and vibrant colors to make your poster stand out. Summer is all about brightness and energy!

Text: Please refrain from using any text on your design. You may incorporate the Kiwanis logo, but we will be adding text to the winning designs for next years posters, so we ask that you do not incorporate any words, sayings or phrases in your final artwork.

Environmental Awareness: Consider incorporating themes of environmental conservation and sustainability into your artwork. Show how we can enjoy summer while taking care of our planet.

Submission Deadline: All entries must be submitted by May 6th, 2024. Late entries will not be considered. Turn your poster into Mrs. Blevins at RHS, Mrs. Hay RMS, Mrs. O’quin RES or Mrs. Mullins at CES.

Judging Criteria: Posters will be judged based on creativity, originality, adherence to the theme, and overall visual impact.

Prizes: There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in each category, with prizes.

Public Display: By submitting your poster, you agree to allow it to be displayed publicly during the contest and any related events, to be photographed, copied and used for promotional purposes.

Awards Ceremony: Awards will be given during our “Splash Into Summer” launch party held on May 25th at the splash pad in Clintwood and on the football field 10a.m. to 4p.m.

Have Fun!: Most importantly, have fun creating your poster! Let your imagination soar and enjoy the process of bringing your summer dreams to life on paper.
